You can start your day with Christina 5 days a week on 13ABC where the Emmy award-winning journalist is a morning anchor and reporter! Christina was recognized as one of Toledo’s 20 under 40 and received an award from the Ohio State Board of Education for an excellence in education reporting.  Christina grew up in South Toledo and is a proud 2003 graduate of Bowsher High School.

Tell us a little bit about what you’re doing now — where you live, what you do, family, etc.
Today I am a news anchor and reporter for 13ABC action news. I still live in the South Toledo neighborhood where I grew up with my husband, Chad, and our daughter, Tess and our two dogs.

What did you do right after you left TPS?
After graduating high school I headed south down I-75 and attended BGSU for undergrad. Go Falcons! I have a BS in Journalism with a specialization in Broadcasting.

What do you remember most vividly about your time at TPS?
One of my most vivid memories of TPS is the sense of community. I attended TPS for K-12 and I always enjoyed going to school. From Girl Scouts, to field day, the Santa shop, cross country, broomball and show choir. All of these are great memories that helped me make life long friends. To this day, I keep in touch with many of the teachers I met along the way.

Do you still stay in touch with friends from TPS?
Absolutely. I met my core group of girlfriends in junior high and we are still best friends nearly 20 years later.

What was your best day at TPS?
I had so many great days at TPS. One of my earliest memories that was so much fun was winning “Principal for a Day.” I think I was in second grade, when the school had some contest to win principal for a day. I won and had the chance to shadow my principal, Denny Delucia, for the day. It was awesome and it might be the first photo of me in a blazer at the ripe old age of 9. I guess I always wanted to be a leader.

What are some lessons you learned at TPS that have served you well in life after graduation?
Some lessons that I learned at TPS that have served me later in lief include giving back. I was a member of the Service Corps and the Girl Scouts and learned early on the importance of helping those in need and showing compassion. I am also a firm believer that if you apply yourself anything is possible. Take advantage of programs. If it wasn’t for the post-seconday options, graduating college in 4 years would’ve been a challenge.

What advice do you have for today’s students of TPS?

If I could give advice to students attending TPS today it is to use your resources. There are plenty of wonderful programs available but you need to use them. Find ways to expand your horizons and get involved in clubs, sports and other extra curriculars.

Nominate a TPS alumnus who has achieved exceptional recognition in their career and community today!
